Option Meaning Default
max the most characters the reader can type 80
value the starting text empty
  • text is one line of input. password is the same, but the input is shown masked.
  • Sent as name=input.
  • Passwords are never stored in history, bookmarks or caches, and are cleared when the page is left. Over plain HTTP they still travel readable; see Sending.
