Extension blocks carry things that go beyond text. A line starting with ::: and a type word opens one; a line that is exactly ::: closes it.

Rules
- A client that doesn’t know the type skips everything up to the closing
:::. Pages with new kinds of blocks still work in older clients. - Extension blocks don’t nest.
- In Markdown viewers the
:::lines show as plain text.
